Os apetece una buena taza de té, preparada como Dios manda? Aquí en Čaj Chai encontraréis un servicio muy profesional y acogedor, y una gran variedad de té de todo el mundo!

La tetería, recién renovada, es lo mejor que le puede pasar a un amante del té en BCN: aquí se sirve el té con cuidado, prestando atención a los detalles, y con verdadera pasión. El tiempo de infusion, la temperatura del agua (que os traen dentro de pequeños thermos), la cantidad de té...todo está perfecto. La chica que nos atendió era muy pero muy simpatica, y nos dio consejos y opiniones sobre las muchas propuestas de la carta!

El ambiente es muy acogedor...tanto que no pueden echar a las personas, que el Domingo llenan el sitio hasta arriba (siempre hay una pequeña cola fuera)!!! También venden té para llevar, paquetes de t8e para hacerse en casita, y utensilios de todo tipo!

En fin...el optimo té y el trato super amable hacen de esta pequeña tetería en el antiguo barrio judío de BCN un must-see total! Ver el mapa abajo!

Quieres un chupito? Pues en ESPIT CHUPITOS tendrás para escoger :)

Este bar es perfecto si lo que os gusta es ir con amigos a tomar unos chupitos rapiditos el Sábado por la noche! Es muy pequeño (tiene a lado un bar de copas mas grande), hay cola para entrar, y casi no hay sitio para sentarse...pero hay que ver los infinitos chupitos diferentes que los barman saben preparar sobre la barra de acero! Habrá fuego, chispas, colores...un espectáculo :)

Lo más divertido es escoger un nombre de la enorme pizarra que hay en la entrada, y a ver que te ponen! Pero cuidado con el Monica Lewinsky (aconsejalo a tus amigos si quieres ver como es :P).

Nosotros estuvimos en el Espit Chupitos de Aribau 77 (con Valencia mas o menos), pero hay otro en el Pg. de Colòn y más en varias ciudades españolas (Tarragona, Valencia, Pamplona)! Y otro en París!!!

Que decir...hay que probarlo! Ah, y el chupito de arriba se llama CEREBRO!

Do you feel like having a Chupito? Well, at ESPIT CHUPITOS you will find the perfect one :)

This is the perfect place to go have some quick drink with your friends on saturday night! It is very small, you will need to queue to enter, and once inside you will not find a seat... but you'll be amazed from  the infinite variety of chupitos the staff is able to serve you! They are all written in a huge blackboard at the entrance.

There'll be fire, sparkles, color...really impressive! And each chupito costs only 2 euros.

We went ot Espit Chupitos of c\ Aribau, 77. Another one is in Pg. de Colòn, and others are in some spanish towns (Tarragona, Valencia, Pamplona) and Paris!

PS. The one in the photo is called CEREBRO (brain)!!!

Este sábado probamos la hermanita pequeña del famoso café galería Cosmo... El café COMETA!
De COSMO ya os hablamos hace tiempo ( mirar aquí)... El nuevo café une el estilo simple, informal y casi nórdico de Cosmo al encanto " shabby chic" del barrio de Sant Antoni!
De hecho, no es casualidad que el Cometa se encuentra en la calle Parlament (ver mapa y direcciones abajo), que se está convirtiendo en uno de los lugares más interesantes de BCN en cuanto a bares y propuestas de ocio (Federal Café también está allí).
Pues la carta es casi la misma del Cosmo y refleja su filosofía: pocas cosas pero ricas y con ingredientes caseros! Os aconsejamos el nuevo bocadillo VERDI, una paradisiaca mezcla de espinacas, aguacate y queso en una bandejita de bamboo!
Ah, y otra cosa: por fin hay wifi para todos ;)

Las Saturday we decided to finally try the "little sister" of well-known Café/Galeria Cosmo (we talked about it here)
This new bar is called CAFE' COMETA, and joins the simple, informal and almost nordic style of COSMO to the "shabby chic" cosiness of the Sant Antoni neighborhood!
In fact, it's no surprise that COMETA opened in the most interesting street of Sant Antoni (c| Parlament, see map and directions below) as many other interesting places ( Federal Café above all).
The menu is short and simple, and reflects the same philosophy of COSMO's... A few well prepared sandwiches and some homey snack.
Try the new sandwich VERDI, a wonderful mix of spinach, avocado and cheese :) served in a little bamboo tray!
Last but not least... finally free Wi-Fi for everyone :)

Sabato scorso abbiamo provato per la prima volta la sorellina piccola del famosissimo Bar/Galleria d'arte Cosmo (di cui giá abbiamo parlato qui).
Il nuovo locale si chiama COMETA, e unisce lo stile semplice, informale, quasi nordico di Cosmo all'atmosfera un po' sciatta ma molto affascinante del quartiere di Sant Antoni!
In effetti, non è casuale che il Cometa sorga nella via piú interessante della zona in quanto a locali; nella calle Parlament (vedi mappa e indirizzo sotto), infatti, si trova anche il famoso Federal Café.
Il menú è molto simile a quello di Cosmo, e riflette la sua filosofia: poche proposte ma buone e con ottimi ingredienti! Provate il nuovo panino VERDI, un ottimo mix di spinaci, brie e avocado servito su un vassoietto di bamboo!
Ultimo punto favorevole: al COMETA finalmente ci si puó connettere alla Wi-fi!

En el corazón de l'Esquerra de l'Eixample se esconde el estrecho Passatge Lluís Pellicer (ver mapa), del que ya os hablamos aquí , en el primer post de la serie El Encanto del Eixample.
En el pasaje se halla un restaurante francés especializado en crepes, que hace tiempo ya que queríamos probar! Al final, la semana pasada tuvimos tiempo y fuimos a tomar unas crepes :)



La oferta es deliciosa y muy variada, realmente se puede hacer una comida entera a base de las deliciosas tortitas bretonas! Nos concentramos especialmente en las dulces, como ya habíamos cenado... pues os aconsejamos especialmente la de chocolate (foto arriba) y la de miel y limòn... riquísimas !! De todas formas, también hay muchas crepes saladas muy ricas!

Como podéis ver de las fotos, Le P'ty Mon es el sitio perfecto para tomarse una infusión o una taza de sidra bretona y disfrutar del ambiente... es muy agradable y relajante, y la camarera francesa que os atenderá es muy simpática!

In the hidden heart of the Eixample neighbourhood (left zone, see map), you can find a very nice, narrow street, P.tge Lluìs Pellicer. We already told you something about this street in the 1st post of the serie El Encanto del Eixample (Enchanting Eixample).
Here, the french restaurant Le P'ty Mon offers wonderful crepes, both sweet or salty! We suggest especially the chocolate one, and the crepe with Honey and Lemon! The salty ones are incredibly tasty, too (told by some friends).
Le P'ty Mon is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing night out with frends, having an infusion or a sider...The atmosphere is great, and the french waitress is very nice and helpful! Enjoy :)

Nel cuore dell' Eixample (parte sinistra) si nasconde il piccolo Passatge Lluìs Pellicer, di cui abbiamo giá parlato nel primo post della serie El Encanto del Eixample.
Qui, il ristorante francese/creperie Le P'ty Mon propone crepes eccezionali, dolci o salate! Tra le dolci, suggeriamo quella di cioccolato (foto in alto) e quella al miele e limone, ma in generale tutte le proposte del menú sono buonissime!
Le P'ty Mon è il posto perfetto per rilassarsi tra amici: pranzando, bevendo un infuso o una tazza di sidro... L'atmosfera è amichevole e rilassante, e la cameriera francese che vi aiuterá nella scelta è molto simpatica :)

El Born (o la Ribera, para los tiquismiquis) es seguramente uno de los barrios más turísticos de Barcelona, pero sigue guardando rincones muy auténticos. Hace unos días descubrimos este restaurante, el Café Kafka, y tuvimos la prueba que las cosas siguen así.
El Café está en la calle de la Fusina (ver mapa), y proporciona un ambiente increíblemente agradable, una mezcla entre un viejo restaurante de estilo modernista y los colores de un bar de la Habana.

Mirando el rico menú, os aconsejamos dejar a un lado las pastas (sobre todo si sois italianos) y concentraros en la gran oferta de platos de la tradición catalana y de propuestas fusion-orientales.
A nosotros nos encantaron los rollitos primavera y el solomillo, acompañado por unas alcachofas muy tiernas y jugosas (photos abajo).
Durante los findes, a mediodía el restaurante es frecuentado sobre todo por familias catalanas, lo que hace la atmósfera aún mas auténtica y agradable!

The Born neighborhood is surely one of the most turistic places in BCN. Despite this, it still hides some very authentic spots.
Some days ago we discovered this restaurant, Café Kafka, and we got the proof that the "real Born" is still alive.
The Café is in calle de la Fusina (see mapa), and offers an incredibly cozy/pleasant atmosphere, somewhat a mixture betweenan old modernist restaurant and a bar in Habana, Cuba.

Among the proposed dishes, we strongly suggest to leave aside the "pasta" ones (especially if you are italian) and concentrate yourselves on the wide offer of catalan and fusion cuisine.
We particularly liked the vegetarian spring rolls and the filet mignon (with some nice juicy artichokes).
During the weekend, at lunchtime the restaurant is full of catalan people enjoying the food, that makes the atmosphere even more familiar and relaxing!

Il Born (o Ribera, per i puristi di Barcelona) è sicuramente uno dei quartieri di BCN piú conosciuti e sfruttati dal turismo; questo non toglie che a volte si possa ancora scoprire qualche angolo autentico:  Café Kafka è uno di questi.
Il Café offre un'atmosfera molto affascinante, a metá tra lo stile un po passé di un locale modernista primi '900 ed i colori di un bar dell'Avana.

Sbirciando tra le tante proposte del menú, da italiani vi consigliamo di lasciar perdere la pasta (che a uno di noi sembrerebbe irrimediabilmente insipida e poco amalgamata col sugo) e concentrarvi sui piatti catalani e di cucina fusion-orientale. Fedeli a questo precetto, abbiamo provato degli involtini primavera ed un ottimo filetto accompagnato da carciofi teneri e sugosi (foto in alto).
L'atmosfera è resa ancora piú piacevole e autentica dalle tante famiglie catalane che scelgono questo posto per pranzare in compagnia al Sabato :)

El barrio de Gracia está repleto de cientos de pequeños bares y restaurantes, y es un lugar perfecto para ir a tomar algo el viernes o el sábado por la noche :)
Este se encuentra en la calle Torrijos (ver ubicación al fondo del post), y en la poto podéis ver el ingreso. Detrás de una pequeña barra hay otra sala, donde con suerte os podréis sentar en un gran y comodo sofá! También tiene una pequeña terraza en el patio de manzana, pero desafortunadamente está cerrada por la noche!
Os aconsejamos los riquísimos bocadillos, los cocteles y los tés!

The Gracia neighbourhood is full of hundreds of little basr and restaurants, and it's the perfect place for having something to drink on friday or saturday night :)
Mama's Café is in c\ Torrijos (see map); in the photo you can see the entrance of this cozy place, that also has another room that fits a big table and a sofa (if you're licky you will seat there!).
The little inner courtyard is really nice, but we haven't seen it open as it is closed at night.
We suggest the very good sandwiches, the teas and the cocktails! Also a very interesting menu is available at lunchtime!

Cornelia è semplicemente un'altro dei negozi di delicatessen/ristoranti che negli ultimi anni spuntano come funghi a Barcelona. Tutti uniscono l'atmosfera piacevole e rilassata a cibi selezionati ma piuttosto cari, e questo non fa eccezione :)

Che dire, se trovate pieno alla Cuina d'en Garriga potete sempre provare qui, l'effetto è quasi indistinguibile! Anzi, si direbbe che la Cuina, proprio per contrastare la concorrenza di posti come Cornelia, abbia aumentato i posti a sedere...perdendo purtroppo tutto lo charme di essere un negozio di cibo e cose per la casa con un unico grande tavolo dove all'occorrenza mettere qualcosa sotto i denti... peccato!

Dónde podéis comer (y llevaros a casa) un buen jamón en Barcelona? Pues a la Cuìna d'en Garriga (Consell de Cent con Pg. de Gracia)! Es esta una tienda de comida/cosas para la cocina que también sirve deliciosos platos caseros!

Muchas mesitas, una barra y una grande mesa donde comer junto a todo el mundo permiten sentarse y disfrutar de una pasta, una hamburguesa especial (foto abajo), o simplemente de un té/café con leche.

Las estanterías están llenas de todo lo mejor que se puede encontrar en el mundo (hablamos de comida, claro): té de Mariage Freres, pasta Martelli (italiana por supuesto), aceite de Catalunya y mucho, mucho mas! El sitio es a la vez acogedor y elegante.

En fin, una buena opción para esos sábados o domingos cuando no tienes ganas de cocinar!

Special Hamburger by Cuìna d'en Garriga

Where can you eat wonderful jamòn in Barcelona (see first picture)? At La Cuìna d'en Garriga of course! This is a very cosy and homey little food shop in C/ Consell de Cent (Pg de Gracia corner), that also proposes a selected menu of delicious meals :)
A bar, many little tables and a big, wooden table where 12 people can eat together allow everybody to enjoy some good cheesy macaroni, hamburger (photo below) or simply a tea or coffee.
The shelves are filled with all the best food one can find all over the world: Mariage Freres teas, italian   Martelli pasta, catalonian olive oil and cheeses.
A really good choice for those saturdays (or sunday noons) when you don't feel like cooking :)

Dove poter mangiare e comprare un ottimo jamón a Barcelona? Beh, ovviamente alla Cuìna d'en Garriga, un piccolo negozio/ristorantino all'incrocio tra Consell de Cent e Pg de Gracia!

Nonostante la posizione piuttosto turistica, il porto è tradizionalmente frequentato da catalani, che oltre a fare un po' di (costosa) spesa vengono a godersi un piatto di maccheroni al formaggio, un hamburger di manzo e maiale, o piú semplicemente un the o un café con leche!

Gli scaffali del negozio sono strapieni del migliore cibo del mondo (quasi tutto italiano quindi, mi pare ovvio!): burrata della puglia che arriva ogni mercoledí (se non ricordo male), maccheroni Martelli, the Mariage Freres e altri prodotti catalani come olio, formaggi ecc ecc!

Che dire, ce n'è per tutti i gusti, e nonostante i prezzi, il negozio accetta i ticket restaurante (spagnoli, ovvio...); un'ottima opzione per quei sabati o domeniche in cui viv a di mangiare come a casa ma non avete voglia di cucinare!!!  :)

Como os anticipamos el jueves, este finde fuimos al Mercat de Mercats (Av. Cambò, Barrio Gotico, BCN). A pesar de un poco de lluvia, en el mercado había muchísima gente, mucha comida y cosas que aprender relacionadas con las cocinas de los diferentes lugares del mundo :)
